DAE feel like they can’t understand things in class even when they try to pay attention

Does anyone else struggle to grasp things in class, even when they’re actively trying to focus? I often find that I only really understand the material after I go over it at home. In class, it seems like I’m not absorbing any useful information, which means I have to put in extra effort later to keep up. I wonder if it’s because I’m not paying enough attention, not putting in enough effort, or if it’s just the learning environment. What are your thoughts?

  1. It’s completely normal to feel that way! Many people find it hard to absorb information during lectures, especially in a fast-paced environment. It could be a combination of factors like the teaching style, classroom distractions, or even your own learning preferences. Some people are auditory learners and benefit from hearing the material, while others might need to see or interact with it in different ways to really grasp it.

Reviewing the material at home can actually be a great strategy! It allows you to learn at your own pace and reinforce what you’ve heard in class. Don’t be too hard on yourself—everyone learns differently, and it’s okay to find what works best for you. You might also consider discussing your feelings with your teachers; they can sometimes offer resources or strategies to help you engage better during class. Keep experimenting with your study methods until you find a routine that feels right for you!
