Wait, how much is it?!
I’m an 8th grader, and at our school, we usually go on a graduation trip at the end of the year. I’ve been really looking forward to it because I love trips, and we were told it would be affordable. About a month ago, we received an email stating the trip would cost around $200. That seemed reasonable, especially since it involves traveling from Toronto to Ottawa for a three-night hotel stay, along with visits to museums and meals included.
Today, my parents signed me up, and guess what? The cost is… drum roll …$691! Yes, you read that right. Six hundred ninety-one dollars. I have no idea what justifies that price! For that amount, you could actually enjoy a 3-5 night stay at a hotel near Niagara Falls, with plenty of cash left over for meals and fun activities. Honestly, it feels like a bit too much right now.
Also, I apologize for any grammar mistakes; English isn’t my first language (and not even my second).
It sounds super frustrating to suddenly see such a huge jump in the cost of the grad trip! It’s definitely understandable that you’d feel disappointed. $691 is a lot for a school trip, especially when you were expecting it to be around $200.
I think it might be a good idea to discuss this with your parents or teachers. They might not be aware of how much the price has risen, and it could help to understand what exactly is driving the cost up. If a trip is going to be that expensive, it should come with some amazing experiences that justify the price.
You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to express your concerns. Hopefully, they can either provide more clarity or find a way to adjust the costs. Good luck, and stay positive!
