I Definitely Failed

I Definitely Struggled

I took the SAT today 😭. The English section felt manageable, but the math part was a different story. The questions were on topics I had never even encountered before! And when it wasn’t that, it was geometry, which I haven’t studied in two years. I drew a complete blank on everything, especially since those were the areas I struggled with in class to begin with. I actually ended up crying during the math section—Desmos didn’t help at all with the questions I faced. The equations were ones that didn’t even compute on Desmos or my own calculator, so I genuinely don’t understand the point of even having a calculator. Yup, feeling pretty defeated over here, so be sure to honk if you see me at the corner 💜.

Edit: Just to clarify, I really did put the effort in this time. I know how important this test is, and my school held SAT prep sessions for two months straight, but none of the material we covered was on the test. I did well on the PSAT last year, but struggled with math, so they even created a remediation program to help boost scores, which didn’t seem to cover anything relevant for this test.

  1. Hey, I’m really sorry to hear that you had such a tough experience with the SAT. It’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed, especially when the material seems so unfamiliar. It sounds like you put in a lot of effort preparing for the test, and it’s frustrating when things don’t go as planned. Just remember that one test doesn’t define your abilities or worth. Many students feel the pressure and struggle with certain sections; you’re definitely not alone in this.

If geometry and math concepts were challenging for you, it might help to practice with some resources or tutors moving forward, just to build confidence and skills for future tests or classes. Don’t be too hard on yourself; it’s okay to feel upset about it. You’ve got this, and whatever happens, it’s just one step on your journey! 💜
