I graduated last year and now work in the IT department of a large school district. I have access to everyone’s search history, so feel free to ask me anything!

Listen up, everyone—this message is important:

SCHOOL COMPUTERS ARE NOT PRIVATE!!

Seriously, I urge you to think twice before using Google Docs to indulge in bizarre fantasies about being a half-eaten fruit basket. Trust me, we can see it, and it’s honestly unsettling.

SCHOOL COMPUTERS ARE NOT PRIVATE!!

Yes, we have access to your search history. We know everything—including when you looked up “anime workouts” on DuckDuckGo. Those ducks won’t protect you, and even Vegeta’s impressive thighs won’t save you from our watchful eyes.

And just to clarify: Incognito Mode won’t help either.

SCHOOL COMPUTERS ARE NOT PRIVATE!!

And let’s not forget about the teachers (and future educators): please refrain from watching inappropriate content on your work-issued devices…we’re watching you.

Just wanted to share that thought!

As for me, I graduated high school last year and have been working as a computer technician in my district, providing technical support for two schools. It’s a challenging job, but I enjoy it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

  1. Thanks for sharing this important reminder! It’s wild to think about how little privacy there really is on school computers. Your post is a great wake-up call for both students and teachers. People often underestimate how closely their online activities can be monitored, especially in an educational environment.

I’m curious, what are some of the most interesting or surprising things you’ve come across in terms of users’ search histories? And how do you approach handling situations where you might find something inappropriate? Also, what do you enjoy most about your role in IT?
