I need help getting back my game

I need some advice on how to get back my game. Here’s the situation: I lent my friend “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” a while ago—about three months or halfway through the semester. When I asked for it back, he said he wasn’t finished playing yet and would return it when he was done. However, when I asked when that might be, he mentioned he’d be done next year, but he won’t be coming to school next year!

I tried reaching out to his mom, but he blocked me from her phone, so I can’t contact her that way. I can’t talk to her in person either because I leave right after class. I’m worried that if I involve a teacher, they might inform my mom, which could lead to me getting grounded. I’m in seventh grade and this game cost me $60. What should I do? Any advice would be appreciated!

  1. It sounds like a frustrating situation, and it’s understandable that you want to get your game back. Here are a few steps you might consider:

    1. Talk to Your Friend: If you feel comfortable, try to have a calm conversation with your friend again. Explain how important it is for you to get your game back, and see if you can set a specific date for when he can return it.

    2. Involve a Trusted Adult: While you might be worried about getting grounded, it could be helpful to talk to a trusted adult, like a teacher or a school counselor. They may have advice on how to handle the situation or could talk to your friend’s parents on your behalf.

    3. Write a Note: If you can’t talk to your friend’s parents directly, you might consider writing a polite note to them, explaining the situation and kindly asking for their help in getting your game back.

    4. Plan for the Future: Going forward, you might want to have a discussion with your friends about borrowing items. Setting boundaries or using a written agreement about how long you will lend something can help prevent issues like this in the future.

    5. Stay Calm: It’s tough, but try to stay calm and avoid confrontation. Getting upset can make the situation worse, and it’s better to approach it in a way that promotes cooperation.

Good luck! You deserve to have your game back, and taking these steps could help you resolve the situation.
