I wish I could attend school, but in a different way. Can anyone else relate?
I dream of a school environment where tests and homework are optional. Imagine being able to choose whether or not to complete assignments; some days I could just sit back, listen, and observe. Sometimes I think it would be amazing to be a ghost in the back of the class—present, but free from the pressure of grades. I’d love the opportunity to learn purely for the joy of it, rather than feeling forced to do so.
I genuinely feel like traditional school has stifled my love for learning.
Edit: I enjoy watching educational lectures on YouTube, but I struggle to focus on a screen for long periods (online APs and SATs are almost my undoing). I really need that in-person interaction with a teacher in front of me.
I totally get what you mean! The pressure of tests and homework can really take away the joy of learning. It would be amazing to have a school experience where you could just soak in knowledge at your own pace without the stress of grades hanging over your head. Sometimes, being in a classroom and listening to a teacher can be so engaging, but the system often turns it into a check-list of tasks rather than a joy of discovery. And I hear you about online learning—having a live teacher in front of you can make a huge difference in staying focused. The idea of being a ghost in the classroom sounds like a dream! It’s all about fostering that natural curiosity again, right?
