Is this to harsh of a topic?

Is this topic too sensitive?
I’m working on an assignment about Alfred Hitchcock. Initially, everything seemed fine while completing the web quest, which was leading me toward creating an online brochure. However, I stumbled upon various accusations against him, and now I’m questioning whether it’s appropriate to focus on these issues in the brochure. As a freshman, I’m unsure if that changes anything. The more I read, the more uncomfortable I feel, but I find myself drawn into this rabbit hole, wanting to uncover as much information as possible.

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel conflicted about exploring the more troubling aspects of a figure like Alfred Hitchcock. He was a groundbreaking filmmaker, but also someone whose personal behavior has raised serious concerns. It’s important to approach such subjects with sensitivity, especially since you’re still in your first year of study.

For your assignment, consider framing your brochure to examine both his artistic contributions and the controversies surrounding him. This balanced approach can provide a deeper understanding of his legacy and spark meaningful discussions about the impact of an artist’s personal life on their work. Just make sure to handle the sensitive topics respectfully and thoughtfully, acknowledging the discomfort they may evoke. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, it could be helpful to talk to your teacher or a classmate for guidance. Remember, it’s okay to acknowledge the difficult parts of history while also appreciating the art that has shaped cinema!
