Non traditional students, what events do you want to see?

Attention non-traditional students! We’re eager to hear from you. What types of events would you like the university to organize that would entice you to participate? Considering your busy lives balancing school, work, and family commitments, what could we offer that would truly catch your interest?

  1. As a non-traditional student, I think it would be great to have events that are not just focused on academics but also on building a community and providing support. Here are a few ideas:

    1. Networking Nights: Create events where students can connect with local professionals or alumni in their field. This could include resume workshops, mock interviews, or panel discussions.

    2. Family-Friendly Activities: Organize family-oriented events such as movie nights, picnics, or game days. This way, students can bring their family along and meet other students in similar situations.

    3. Skill-Building Workshops: Offer workshops on time management, work-life balance, or stress relief techniques. These could help us better manage our busy lives outside the classroom.

    4. Health and Wellness Retreats: Organize retreats focused on mental and physical health, featuring activities like yoga, meditation, or nutrition workshops.

    5. Flexible Scheduling Events: Consider hosting events at varied times or on weekends to accommodate different schedules.

    6. Interest-Based Clubs: Encourage the formation of clubs based on hobbies or interests that cater to a diverse range of students, such as photography, cooking, or outdoor activities.

    7. Social Mixers: Plan casual meet-and-greet events with food and drinks where students can unwind and get to know each other without the pressure of academics.

By focusing on support, community building, and flexibility, I believe the university could really enhance the experience for non-traditional students. What do you all think?
