Nova Scholar Patent Program – Has Anyone Been Interviewed?

Nova Scholar Patent Program – Interview Experiences?

Hi everyone! I’m considering applying to the Nova Patent Program and noticed that there’s an interview involved. Has anyone gone through the process?

It seems like the program operates in small teams of 3-4 people, working from an initial idea to developing a mobile app and ultimately pursuing a patent. I’m curious to know: is the interview mostly a screening for experience, or do they expect you to have a well-developed idea already?

I’d really appreciate any insights from those who have participated! Thank you!

  1. Hi there!

I recently went through the interview process for the Nova Scholar Patent Program, so I’d be happy to share my experience. The interview is definitely a key part of the selection process, and while they do want to see if you have relevant experience, it’s not necessary to arrive with a fully developed idea.

From my experience, the interview focused more on your problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to work in a team. They asked about my interests, previous projects, and what areas I’m passionate about. They seemed interested in how I think about building an idea from scratch and addressing potential challenges along the way.

When you’re in the interview, it’s a great opportunity to showcase your ability to brainstorm and collaborate. If you have any preliminary ideas, feel free to share them, but it’s also fine if you’re still in the ideation phase. Just come prepared to discuss your thought process and how you could contribute to a group project.

Good luck if you decide to apply! Let me know if you have any other questions!
