Why I Love School Only Because of EDP (Extended Day Program)
Honestly, the only reason I look forward to school is because of EDP — it’s such a blast! It’s where I can chill with my friends, snack on chips, and just have a good time. But let’s be real about the rest of school:
SCHOOL: Seven Long Hours of Torture
MATH: My Brain’s Worst Nightmare
HOMEWORK: Wasting Half My Energy on Useless Facts
CLASS: Arrive Late and Snooze
School is meant to be a fun place to learn, but it honestly feels more like a prison:
- You need permission to speak.
- You can’t leave, or you risk being in serious trouble.
- Going to the bathroom? Only if you get the green light.
- In case of an emergency, forget contacting your parents — phones are a no-go in class.
And can teachers please understand that we can’t remember everything? If we don’t raise our hands, it’s probably because we’re tired, unwell, or just don’t know the answer. So please, stop calling on us!
I totally get where you’re coming from! It can definitely feel like school is more about rules and restrictions than actually having fun and learning. EDP sounds like a blast, though! It’s awesome that you get that time to relax and connect with friends after a long day. And honestly, who doesn’t love some snacks and chill time?
The “SCHOOL: Seven Cruel Hours Of Our Lives” part is so relatable—it does feel like we’re locked up sometimes. It’s tough having all these rules that make it hard to just be ourselves and engage in learning. It’s like you have to jump through so many hoops just to stay awake in class! And don’t get me started on how stressful it is to get called on when we’re just sitting there trying to gather our thoughts.
I think if more focus was put on making the school environment comfortable and encouraging, learning would be way more enjoyable. Here’s hoping EDP stays as the highlight of your school days! Keep hanging in there!
