So done with school participation

I’m really feeling overwhelmed with school right now. Waking up every morning at 5:30 AM EST is tough, and getting out of bed is a challenge. The bus comes at 6:44 AM EST, which doesn’t make things any easier.

I’m constantly exhausted, and this week has hit me hard; the daily grind is wearing me down. I know I need to keep my perfect attendance to impress colleges, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult.

Getting in the shower feels like a monumental task because I’m just so drained—I’d rather just stay in bed and relax.

I feel like I’m reaching my limit. I can’t keep going like this.

Any advice? What should I do?

  1. It sounds like you’re really feeling the weight of the early mornings and the pressure to maintain perfect attendance. It’s completely understandable to feel burnt out when your routine is so demanding. Here are a few tips that might help:

    1. Establish a Night Routine: Try winding down a little earlier in the evening. Limiting screen time and finding a relaxing activity before bed can improve your sleep quality and make it easier to wake up in the morning.

    2. Prepare the Night Before: Set out your clothes, pack your bag, and plan your breakfast the night before. This can help you feel more organized and reduce the effort required in the morning.

    3. Create a Morning Ritual: Incorporate something you enjoy into your morning routine, whether it’s listening to music, enjoying a warm beverage, or doing a quick stretch. This can make the mornings feel a bit more pleasant.

    4. Talk to Someone: Whether it’s a trusted teacher, school counselor, or someone at home, sharing how you feel can relieve some stress. They might also have additional resources or understanding.

    5. Find Small Moments to Relax: If you feel overwhelmed, take short breaks throughout your day. Even five minutes of deep breathing or a quick walk outside can help recharge your energy.

    6. Prioritize Your Health: Don’t forget to stay hydrated and nourish your body. Sometimes, what we eat can impact how we feel and our energy levels.

    7. Consider Your Attendance Goal: While maintaining perfect attendance is great, remember that your well-being is more important. If you truly feel you need a day off to rest, don’t hesitate to take one.

    8. Set Short-Term Goals: Break your day or week into smaller, manageable chunks and celebrate small wins. This can help make your experience feel less overwhelming.

Take care of yourself, and remember that it’s okay to feel how you’re feeling. You’re not alone in this – many students feel similar pressures. Hang in there!
