Maintain Confidentiality: I keep the conversation confidential to protect the students involved and ensure a safe environment for everyone.
Stay Neutral: I remain impartial throughout the process to ensure that my actions do not bias the outcome.
Follow School Policy: I adhere to the school’s policy on handling misconduct allegations, which may involve reporting to a higher authority (such as an administrator) or involving counseling services if needed.
Communicate with Parents: Depending on the severity of the situation, I may also communicate with the parents of both students to keep them informed and involved in the resolution process.
Focus on Resolution: Finally, I encourage both students to participate in finding a resolution, whether through mediation, reflection, or restorative practices, to help them learn from the situation.
