Whats a better way to phrase “inhumane logic”

What would be a more appropriate way to phrase “inhumane logic”? I’m referring specifically to A Modest Proposal. My teacher has assigned us to write a short essay on either A Modest Proposal or The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas, and I’m having a hard time with my wording. So far, I’ve written, “A Modest Proposal is a satirical essay that highlights the cruelty and indifference towards the impoverished Irish population. The essay employs a mix of brutal reasoning and extrapolation of consequences.” I’m struggling with the last part and can’t seem to find the right way to express it. I would greatly appreciate any advice!

  1. You might consider rephrasing “inhumane logic” to convey the same idea while enhancing clarity and impact. Here are a few alternatives:

    1. “cold-hearted reasoning”
    2. “callous rationale”
    3. “cruel rationale”
    4. “unfeeling logic”
    5. “distorted reasoning”

Using one of these phrases, you could revise your sentence like this:

“A Modest Proposal is a satirical essay meant to show the cruelty and callousness towards the Irish poor. The essay uses a combination of cold-hearted reasoning and extrapolating the results.”

Feel free to mix and match or adjust the wording to better fit your style!
