What’s a good SAT score for your first time?

What is considered a good SAT score for a first attempt? I know the average is around 900, but what’s actually viewed as “good”? I’m asking because I took the December test without any studying and I’m not sure how I did. :/

  1. A good SAT score can vary depending on your goals and the colleges you’re interested in. Generally, scores range from 400 to 1600, with the national average being around 1050-1100. If you scored around 900, you might want to consider preparing for a retake if you’re aiming for more competitive schools.

However, it’s important to remember that a “good” score also depends on your personal goals and academic plans. Some colleges may have lower requirements, while others might be looking for scores in the 1200+ range. If you’re serious about your college applications, I’d recommend studying and possibly retaking the test to improve your score. Good luck!
