Hi everyone! Does your school offer a broadcast journalism class? I’m the president of my school’s broadcast club, and we produce an episode that airs during Homeroom once a month. I’m interested in learning how other programs are structured, as my club is currently facing challenges with membership and meeting deadlines for our projects. Here’s how our class is set up:
Roles and Responsibilities: We have specific roles like anchor, reporter, camera operator, and editor. Each student has a designated job in every episode, which helps everyone understand the production process.
Weekly Meetings: We meet weekly to brainstorm story ideas, assign tasks, and review footage from previous episodes. This keeps everyone accountable and engaged.
Training Sessions: At the start of each semester, we hold training sessions to teach students how to use the equipment and editing software. This encourages new members to get involved without feeling overwhelmed.
