Broadcast Class

Broadcast Class Inquiry

Hi everyone! Does your school offer a broadcast journalism class? I’m the president of my school’s broadcast club, and we produce an episode that airs during Homeroom once a month. I’m interested in learning how other programs are structured, as my club is currently facing challenges with membership and meeting deadlines for our projects. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Hi there! It’s great to hear you’re involved in your school’s broadcast — that’s such an important skill to develop. At my school, we have a broadcast journalism class that’s pretty structured, which might help you in organizing your club.

Here’s how our class is set up:

    1. Roles and Responsibilities: We have specific roles like anchor, reporter, camera operator, and editor. Each student has a designated job in every episode, which helps everyone understand the production process.

    2. Weekly Meetings: We meet weekly to brainstorm story ideas, assign tasks, and review footage from previous episodes. This keeps everyone accountable and engaged.

    3. Training Sessions: At the start of each semester, we hold training sessions to teach students how to use the equipment and editing software. This encourages new members to get involved without feeling overwhelmed.

    4. Collaborative Projects: We often work on group projects to encourage teamwork. This not only eases the workload but also fosters bonds among members, making it more fun.

    5. Feedback System: After each broadcast, we have a feedback session where we discuss what worked and what could be improved. This helps us grow and motivates everyone to contribute their best work.

If you’re struggling with membership, I suggest hosting an open house or a workshop where interested students can experience what it’s like to be in the club. Maybe even collaborate with other clubs for a special episode! It’s all about building community and passion for what you do. Good luck, and I’d love to hear more about your episodes!

So, I usually buy my girlfriend Starbucks every morning, and I’ve memorized her order. We enjoy our drinks and take selfies while driving to school. Is a B a good grade? I’m in eighth grade taking honors Algebra 1, and I currently have a B. I’m concerned that if this continues, my GPA might not be high enough for college. I just want to know if I’ll be alright in the long run.
