Struggling to get up for morning classes but manage to rise for work…any suggestions?
I’m looking for ways to create that same urgency to get out of bed for my classes. I work on campus three times a week at 6am, which means I’m up by 5am. While I dislike waking up that early, I’ve never missed a shift. But when it comes to my morning classes—even those starting at 9:30am or 11am—I really struggle to get moving. Next quarter, I’ll likely have an 8am class, and I really need to break this habit, but I’m not sure how to find the motivation.
This quarter has been incredibly stressful for me—I’m managing 20 credits with a heavy workload while also working two jobs. I’m constantly exhausted, which is probably why I can’t bring myself to get out of bed on my non-working days. Although I’m doing well in my classes, I’ve missed a lot of my morning lectures. I genuinely want to attend my classes, but I lack the drive.
Next quarter, I’m planning to take only 15 credits (three classes), which should help, but even when I wasn’t working and took just three classes, I still struggled to make it to morning lectures. Unfortunately, my major tends to schedule all the required classes in the morning, leaving me with limited options for afternoon classes.
