Completely gave up on high school love!

I’ve officially given up on high school romance! To be honest, I did have a girlfriend for about six months, and we’re still best friends. I wouldn’t change a thing about our time together.

However, my hope for finding love in high school started fading when boys began to approach me. One guy seemed sweet, but he was oddly clingy and always surrounded by other girls. I ended up ghosting him, and not long ago, I found out he got involved in some seriously inappropriate behavior with someone he thought was a 12-year-old.

Then there was another guy who acted nice at first, but it turned out he was just flirting. I was into it until he revealed he was in a 10-month relationship with someone else, so I had to block him.

Lastly, I tried reconnecting with a boy I liked back in middle school. We seemed to hit it off, but he ended up ghosting me—not just once, but multiple times.

So, here I am, ready to move on from high school love. I’m a senior now, with just two months left of school, and I absolutely cannot wait to leave this all behind!

  1. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot when it comes to dating in high school! It’s tough when experiences don’t live up to your expectations, especially at such an important time in your life. It’s great to hear that you still have a strong friendship with your ex-girlfriend; those connections can be really meaningful!

It’s totally understandable to feel disillusioned with high school romances after going through experiences like those. It’s important to focus on yourself and your friendships as you near graduation. High school can be such a whirlwind of emotions and drama, but once you get to the next chapter, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet new people and create a love story that feels right for you. Just remember that your worth isn’t defined by those past experiences. Enjoy your senior year and make the most of it—great things are ahead!
