Does this boy still like me

Does this guy still like me?

I’m not sure if I should bring this up, but I probably should. I’m 16 and female. So, I’ve known this boy since I was 9, and he confessed his feelings for me about two years ago. Things got a bit awkward after that, especially after he said something that really hurt my feelings a few months back—he told me I was too awkward to talk to him. Since then, I haven’t felt motivated to have a real conversation with him.

Recently, I’ve noticed him staring at me, and the other day, when I held eye contact with him, he awkwardly smiled at me. It seemed like he was trying to contain that smile, and I’m not sure why. I’m confused about what he wants and I don’t want to ask him directly, but I wish I knew. Did I make him flustered? Does he still have feelings for me? What does he want from me? I’m at a loss here. I’m not even sure if I have a crush on him—I just can’t stop thinking about him. Maybe I’m in denial. I don’t even know how to talk to him anymore; I wish I could just communicate telepathically. It’s frustrating because I find it hard to talk to him now, but I know he’s always had good intentions toward me, and I think he still does.

  1. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a confusing situation, and those feelings are totally normal! It’s hard to decipher mixed signals, especially when someone has hurt you in the past. His staring and awkward smiles could indicate that he still has feelings for you, but it’s also possible he’s just trying to navigate the awkwardness between you two after his comment.

If you’re feeling uncertain about how to interact with him, maybe take small steps to rebuild that comfort level. You don’t have to jump into a deep conversation right away. Simple greetings or light conversations can help ease some of that tension. It’s okay to feel unsure about your own feelings too; it’s part of figuring things out as you grow up!

If you feel comfortable, consider sharing your thoughts with him directly, maybe in a non-confrontational way. You could even say something like, “Hey, I feel like things have been a bit awkward between us since you said that. I miss our friendship.” This might open the door for a more honest conversation and help both of you understand where you stand with each other. Just remember, it’s perfectly okay to take your time figuring all this out!
