Overwhelmed about college choices!!!
I’m really feeling stressed right now. As I work on my school assignments and look into colleges, I’ve realized that I have no idea what I want to do with my life, and I’m already a junior in high school! I’ve been saying that I want to be a nurse, but I’m not sure college is the right path for me. I’m honestly at a loss and on the verge of tears. I hardly know what I enjoy, but one thing I do know is that I want to travel.
Hey! First of all, it’s totally okay to feel overwhelmed—many students feel the pressure around this time, especially when it comes to making big decisions about the future. Remember that you’re not alone in feeling this way!
It’s great that you’re thinking about your interests, like traveling. That could be a good starting point! Consider exploring fields that allow for travel, like international business, environmental science, or even certain jobs in healthcare, like public health.
Also, keep in mind that you don’t have to have everything figured out right now. College is a place for exploration, and many students change their majors or discover new interests once they’re there. You might consider starting with general education courses or enrolling in a community college where you can take a variety of classes before committing to a specific path.
Take a deep breath—it’s a process! Try reaching out to a school counselor or trusted teacher to talk about your feelings. They can offer guidance and help you find resources to explore your interests further. You’ve got this!
