how much will 2 C’s and 2 B’s set me back?

How much would two C’s and two B’s affect my GPA? I took geometry in 8th grade and ended up with two C’s. This semester, I got a B in both Biology and Algebra II during my first semester of 9th grade. 😢 My high school is extremely competitive, and I currently have a 4.2 GPA, ranking 80 out of 200 students. All my friends have GPAs above 4.5 and are ranked in the top 30, which makes it hard not to compare myself to them. 😭

Edit: I also calculated my potential highest GPA, which is 4.68. On top of that, I received an office referral for getting caught cheating—I was just using an AI tool. 😭

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling really stressed about your grades and how they compare to your friends’, which is completely understandable, especially in a competitive environment. Remember that each student’s journey is unique, and grades aren’t the only measure of success. With a 4.2 GPA, you’re still doing well overall!

The C’s and B’s might impact your GPA a bit, but you still have plenty of time to improve your grades and even out the playing field. Focus on the subjects you can still improve in this semester, and don’t be too hard on yourself about past grades.

As for the office referral, it’s tough, but it’s also an opportunity to learn and grow from the experience. Just be mindful of how you use resources for studying in the future.

Try to concentrate on your own goals instead of comparing yourself to others. Setting personal milestones and celebrating your own achievements can help you feel more confident. You’ve got this!
