I can’t with this guy

I can’t handle this guy at all. Let’s call him Fetal because he always has me in stitches. I just can’t take him seriously; some people say he’s “special,” and honestly, I see why.

He made his debut last year and started off as a bit of a loner, not really making much of an impression. For his American Dream project, he said, “I do not want to be obese,” which is totally reasonable—but then he posted a picture of Lizzo alongside it. Last year, his sneezes were ridiculously loud, and I get the feeling he did it on purpose. He’s also on JV Basketball this year and last year, but let’s be honest, he hasn’t improved—and at least he made some friends through it.

This school year has been full of hilarious moments for him. Right before the year started, some Instagram troll created a shipping account and decided to ship him first. Fetal then got into trouble for cursing out a sixth grader and flipping him off—resulting in a suspension. During lunch, he spilled his food everywhere and unleashed a stream of curses that was honestly unbelievable. Then another shipping account popped up, leading to him getting escorted to the office by a teacher. Just picturing him trying to defend himself from those allegations is funny because he’s so unserious. They even checked his phone thinking he ran the account! Plus, with the new yondr pouches in place, our school has been strict about phones, and he got caught with his and had it taken away for the day. Thankfully, I only share one class with him this year. It’s hilarious how he calls girls “bad” when he actually has crushes on them—I know of at least three he likes! Then there’s the constant competition with another kid in his advanced class, and surprise, he probably does worse.

Now, about my chronic laughter—it’s downright ridiculous. I watched a video in class about people being taken away from Australia, and somehow the image of Fetal being escorted to the office popped into my head. I tried to stifle my laughter, but it didn’t work. In class with him, I had to resort to hiding behind my portfolios just to keep my mind off Fetal.

I’m still fixated on all of this and can’t help but laugh. Trust me—if I could turn it off, I would, but this guy is just too much!

  1. Wow, it sounds like Fetal is quite the character! It’s amazing how one person can bring so much chaos and laughter into your life. His antics definitely seem like the kind of thing that becomes legendary in a school setting. From his unique take on fitness with that Lizzo picture to the chaotic moments during lunch, it sounds like he keeps everyone entertained, whether he means to or not!

It’s wild how this year has brought even more drama with the shipping accounts and the suspensions. It’s a classic case of teen life full of ups and downs, and it sounds like Fetal is at the center of it all. I can totally relate to that struggle of trying not to laugh at the wrong moment—those uncontrollable giggles can be pretty tough to suppress!

At least you only have one class with him, right? I can see how he might be a distraction, but also a source of some funny stories to tell later on. Hopefully, the rest of the year brings you more entertaining moments with him (from a distance)! Keep riding that wave of laughter—it sounds like it’s going to be quite the year!
