I feel like my school hasn’t really set me up for success in college. I’ve taken five math classes and still find myself struggling with the SAT and TSI exams. I’ve maintained high grades in all those classes, so I doubt it’s just me. Additionally, some of my other classes have been taught by teachers who just didn’t provide effective instruction. High School tips
Tips for High School My friend Josiah, who is 13, will be starting high school soon. How can I share what he might expect from this experience without coming off as silly?
It’s really frustrating to feel unprepared for the next step, especially after putting in so much effort in your classes. It sounds like you’ve worked hard to achieve high grades, but quality teaching is just as important as the material itself. It’s not uncommon for students to feel unprepared, even if they’ve performed well academically, especially when teaching methods don’t match their learning styles.
Consider seeking out resources that can help bridge the gap before college starts. Many colleges offer preparatory programs or summer courses that can boost your confidence and knowledge in the subjects you’re struggling with. Additionally, online resources, tutoring, or study groups can provide support and clarity on topics you find challenging. Remember, college is a time for growth, and you’re not alone in feeling this way. Many students go through similar experiences, and it’s perfectly okay to seek help and take your education into your own hands! You’ve got this!
