i’m really scared to pursue dance alone, what do i do with my fear?

I’m feeling really anxious about the idea of pursuing dance on my own. My fear seems to be my biggest obstacle right now. I’m unsure about my future and what direction I want to take. Ever since I was little, I’ve wanted to dance, but my parents couldn’t afford it. Now that I’m older, I feel left out since so many of my peers have years of experience, and it makes me feel isolated.

I was really excited about joining pomline with a friend next year, but when she decided not to go through with it, I felt discouraged. Even though I told myself I’d participate regardless of being alone, the fear still lingers. The thought of being around younger kids and facing embarrassing comments about joining in my grade is daunting.

Honestly, my fear of being alone is what holds me back from pursuing pomline or even asking my parents to sign me up for dance classes. I see so many people doing activities with friends, and I can’t help but feel that I’m less experienced and won’t know anyone. The idea of being by myself while others are socializing is really overwhelming for me.

I know this fear is what’s preventing me from chasing my dream of dancing and performing on stage, and it breaks my heart. I’m in my early high school years, and I can’t help but feel disheartened thinking I might never get to fulfill this passion.
