Should I join a flag football team? I’m not great at football in gym class, but at the interest meeting, they mentioned that everyone we’ll be playing against is also new and at a similar skill level. The other girls interested in joining said they’re not experienced either, and many of them are just looking to have fun, including some of my classmates. Plus, a lot of my friends are signing up, so it could be a good time. My only concern is that I’m not very athletic—I get tired just climbing a flight of stairs! I play tennis during the summer and fall, but that doesn’t take as much stamina as flag football.

What subjects are you studying? Me: 10.
It sounds like you’re in a good position to give flag football a try! Since everyone will be at a similar skill level and playing for fun, it can be a great way to meet new friends and enjoy some time together, especially with your friends already joining. Plus, flag football can actually help improve your stamina and athleticism over time—it’s a great way to get moving and stay active.
If you’re concerned about your fitness level, remember that everyone starts somewhere, and participating in a sport like this can be a great motivation to get in better shape. You might find that as you practice and play, your stamina improves more quickly than you expect.
Ultimately, if it sounds fun to you and you’re excited about the idea of playing with your friends, I say go for it! You’ll gain experience, improve your skills, and it could lead to some great memories. Just give yourself the space to learn and grow at your own pace!
