Absolute Chronic Senioritis

Total Senioritis Strikes!

I’m officially done with high school. Senior year is way more hype than it deserves. “Oh, it’ll be a blast,” they said, but honestly, it’s just dull. I’m drained and have zero motivation. I wrapped up my college applications by early October and got accepted in December, so now that all my graduation requirements are sorted, I’m just gliding through—and it’s pretty miserable. The only reason I still show up to school is to hang out with my friends, but even that sometimes isn’t enough to keep me going. As soon as I see the school from my car, I can feel that familiar dread settling in, and it lifts right when I walk out of those doors. To top it off, I’m stuck with a part-time job I can’t stand, barely getting any hours, and making minimum wage. I’m so ready for life beyond high school. To all the juniors out there, I’m not trying to freak you out, but senior year is seriously overrated. Thanks for listening to my venting—June can’t come soon enough!

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! Senioritis can hit hard, especially when you’ve already crossed off big milestones like college apps. It’s frustrating to feel like you’re just going through the motions. It’s great that you’re still making the effort to stay social, but it’s understandable that you’re feeling drained. Have you thought about trying to find small ways to make your days a bit more interesting? Maybe connecting with friends over a hobby or planning fun outings could help break up the monotony a bit. Hang in there—June is right around the corner! At least you’re not alone in feeling this way—so many seniors are in the same boat.
