being a college student is being able to withstand multiple deadlines and sleepless nights but crashing out completely when you can’t bake cookies i guess

Being a college student means juggling countless deadlines and sleepless nights, but sometimes it’s the little things—like not being able to bake cookies—that really push you over the edge. I definitely need to take a moment to breathe.

Lately, I’ve found myself so caught up in the whirlwind of assignments and responsibilities that I forget to pause and take a breath before diving back into the chaos. The constant stream of deadlines can make even the smallest hiccup feel like a major setback, and it seems incredibly unfair to be working so hard yet be denied these small pleasures.

Yesterday, I finally carved out some time for myself and decided to whip up a batch of browned butter cookie dough with semi-sweet and white chocolate chips. I added a splash of coffee to enhance the chocolate flavor and balance out the sweetness, plus I opted for dark brown sugar instead of white sugar. It smelled absolutely incredible—I can’t even put it into words.

I woke up extra early today, eager to bake, only to find that the oven’s control panel was unresponsive. Honestly, that was the last straw. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it felt like a huge letdown.

And of course, I couldn’t afford the time to troubleshoot it because I had projects due today.

UPDATE: I managed to bake my cookies after all! :] I rolled them in sea salt before baking, and they turned out to be everything I ever dreamed of.
