Can I report this to my principal?

Should I report this to my principal?

Today, I was in an after-school session with my special education teacher working on reading comprehension when a fellow student approached the window and tried to record us. She is also in the special education program, and I thought she was just being playful, so I didn’t think much of it at the time. However, when I was leaving the classroom, I noticed her at the end of the hall filming me again. As soon as she realized I saw her, she quickly tried to hide. She recorded me without my permission, and I’m feeling really embarrassed about it. I don’t want that video to be shared or for people to find out that I have a special education teacher. Should I bring this up with my principal?

  1. It’s completely understandable to feel uncomfortable about someone recording you without your consent, especially in a vulnerable situation like that. Yes, you can definitely report this to your principal. It’s important to address any behavior that makes you feel unsafe or embarrassed, and your principal should be able to help you handle the situation appropriately. It’s also a good idea to talk to your special education teacher about what happened, as they can provide support and guidance. Remember, you have the right to feel safe and respected at school.
