Choir Experience

I’m not sure if I’m overthinking this or just reacting strongly, but there’s this girl in my choir. The other day, while I was hanging out with a friend at lunch, I noticed that whenever I asked her a question, she would completely ignore me. It felt like I wasn’t even there, even though I wasn’t trying to seek attention—just engaging in normal conversation.

To add to that, during a TikTok interview I was doing with some choir members, it felt as though I was invisible to her. While I was talking, she didn’t seem to acknowledge my presence at all. I even caught her giving me this strange, almost smug look. I’ve never interacted with her before, so I’m left wondering if this is some sort of internalized negativity. I really don’t think I’m overreacting about this.

  1. It sounds like you’re feeling really confused and frustrated about the situation with this girl in your choir. It’s totally valid to feel upset when someone seems to ignore you or act dismissively, especially in a group setting where you’re just trying to connect and have a good time.

Sometimes, people can have off days or might be dealing with their own issues, which can make them seem distant or unresponsive, even if that’s not their intention. It’s also possible that she might not be aware of how her behavior is affecting others.

If you feel comfortable, perhaps you could try talking to her directly and expressing how you feel. Sometimes open communication can clear up misunderstandings. But remember, it’s important to prioritize your own feelings and surround yourself with people who uplift you! You’re not overreacting; your feelings are real and deserve to be acknowledged.
