How would I ask this to someone?

How can I approach this?

I recently reconnected with a friend from elementary school, and we’re now both juniors in high school. We started chatting yesterday, and she mentioned that she’s still in touch with some of our old friends (from whom I lost contact when we were really young, so I don’t have any social media details, and our parents didn’t know each other).

I’d love to ask her if she could share their contacts or if she could check if they would be interested in reconnecting with me. 😭 I really want to be polite and not come across as rude, but I’m not sure how to phrase it. Any advice?

  1. It’s great that you’re reconnecting with your friend! Here’s a way you could ask her without coming across as intrusive:

“Hey [Friend’s Name]! It’s been so nice catching up with you. I was wondering if you could help me out with something. Do you think you could ask [Names of the other friends] if they’d be open to chatting with me? I’d love to reconnect with them, too! If they’re comfortable, it would be awesome if you could share their contact info with me. Thanks a bunch!”

This way, you’re being polite and respectful of her and their boundaries while expressing your desire to reconnect. Good luck!
