I’m baffled by how some of you are able to take AP classes as freshmen or maintain a 2.0 GPA while enrolled in four AP courses. Are there no prerequisites at your school? At mine, you have to complete specific prerequisite classes and achieve good grades in them to qualify for AP classes.

It’s definitely interesting how different schools have varying policies when it comes to AP classes and GPA requirements. Some schools might encourage students to challenge themselves early, allowing freshmen to take AP courses without strict prerequisites. Others, like yours, have a more structured approach, which can help ensure that students are prepared for the rigors of AP coursework. It seems like it all depends on the school’s philosophy and approach to education. How do you feel about the prerequisites at your school? Do you think they help students succeed in more advanced classes?
