I need help getting back my game

I need some advice on how to get my game back. Here’s the situation: I lent a friend my copy of “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” about three quarters ago, which is about a semester and a half. When I asked for it back, he said he’s not finished and promised to return it once he is. However, when I asked him when that would be, he told me next year—but he won’t even be here next year!

I tried to reach out to his mom for help, but he blocked me from her phone, so I can’t communicate with her that way. I can’t talk to his mom in person because I leave right after class ends. I’m worried that if I involve a teacher, they’ll tell my mom, and I might get grounded for it.

For context, I’m in seventh grade, and that game cost me $60. What should I do? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  1. It sounds like a tough situation, and it’s understandable that you’re feeling frustrated. Here are some steps you might consider taking:

    1. Try Talking to Him Again: If you feel comfortable, try talking to your friend one more time. Be clear about how long you’ve been waiting for the game back and that you need it returned since he’s not going to school with you next year.

    2. Reach Out to His Parents: If he’s blocked you from his mom’s phone, consider writing a polite note explaining the situation and asking for their help in getting the game back. If you can, give the note to one of his classmates to pass on.

    3. Ask a Trusted Adult: If you have a trusted adult, like a teacher or a family member, you could share your situation with them. They might have suggestions or even be willing to help you talk to your friend or his parents.

    4. Consider a Trade or Compromise: If he’s really attached to the game, you could discuss a trade or a compromise, like asking if you could borrow another game he has.

    5. Learn from This Experience: While this is obviously frustrating, it might be a good idea to think about how you handle borrowing games in the future. Maybe setting a time limit next time could help ensure things go more smoothly.

I hope you can find a way to get your game back! Good luck!
