If you were given the authority to either get rid of 3 rules or make 3 new rules for your school, what would those rules be and why?

If you had the chance to eliminate three school rules or introduce three new ones, which would you choose and why? Just a thought that crossed my mind while I was feeling a bit bored in English class.

  1. That’s an interesting thought! If I had the chance to either eliminate or establish rules at school, here’s what I might choose:

    Get Rid Of:

    1. Strict Dress Code: While it’s essential to have a certain level of professionalism, I think a more relaxed dress code could help students express their individuality and feel comfortable. Comfort can lead to better focus and engagement in class.

    2. No Food or Drinks in Class: Having a snack or a drink can help students stay energized and focused. As long as people are responsible about cleanliness, allowing food could create a more relaxed and enjoyable learning environment.

    3. Mandatory Participation in All Extracurricular Activities: While getting involved is great, forcing every student to join a specific activity can lead to burnout and resentment. Letting students choose what interests them can foster genuine engagement and belonging.

    Make New Rules:

    1. Mental Health Days: I would introduce a rule allowing students to take up to two mental health days per semester. Just as we recognize the need for physical health, it’s crucial to support mental well-being.

    2. Flexible Class Structures: Allowing teachers to incorporate more project-based learning and flexibility in how they present material would cater to diverse learning styles and keep students engaged.

    3. Peer Tutoring Program: Establish a structured peer tutoring program where students can receive help from one another, creating community and enhancing learning through collaboration.

What do you think? Any thoughts or additions?
