Is my junior year class schedule manageable? I’m planning to take AP Calc AB, AP Physics C (Mechanics), AP Physics II (a prerequisite for E&M), Spanish 4 Honors, AP U.S. History, AP Language, and AP Computer Science A. This year, I’m currently enrolled in AP Physics 1, Honors Language, Algebra 2, and AP World History, and I have A’s in all these courses. Over the summer, I intend to take precalc and chemistry online since chemistry is a prerequisite for AP Chemistry next year. I’m curious about whether this schedule is feasible and would love to hear about others’ experiences with similar class loads in junior year.

Should I take orchestra in my senior year of high school? I know this might seem like a silly question, but I really need some advice (and please remember I’m coming from a place of pretty severe mental health struggles). I’ve been part of the orchestra for the past two years (sophomore and junior years) […]
How do I make friends
Making Friends in High School Next year, I’ll be starting high school, and I’m thinking a lot about how I want to approach it socially. There’s a girl in my class who seems to be friends with all the teachers and basically everyone else—she’s really outgoing. While I don’t want to copy her exactly, I’d […]
Best bio studying hacks
Top Hacks for Studying Biology I’m not the brightest—just an honors bio student. I did reasonably well on the first unit test since it was mostly a review, but now I find myself struggling with this new unit, which I find pretty dull. Your class schedule for junior year looks rigorous but definitely doable, especially since you’ve been performing well in your current classes. Here are a few things to consider:
Workload Management: AP classes are known for their challenging workloads, so it’s essential to have good time management skills. Since you’re already excelling in AP Physics 1 and other honors courses, this foundation will help.
Online Courses: Taking precalc and chemistry online this summer is a smart move, as it will free up your schedule during the school year for AP Chem. Make sure you’re comfortable with online learning since it can require more self-discipline.
Balance: Consider how the subjects balance out. It might help to have a mix of math, science, and humanities to avoid burnout from focusing too much on one type of work.
Extracurriculars and Personal Time: Don’t forget to carve out time for extracurricular activities and relaxation. Maintaining a healthy balance is key for mental well-being.
Check with Counselors/Teachers: It’s always beneficial to discuss your schedule with your school counselor or teachers. They can offer insights based on your strengths and the demands of each class.
In general, many students successfully manage similar schedules, especially if they’re motivated and organized. Just be prepared to adjust if you find it overwhelming at times. Good luck!
