Middle school was a humiliation ritual

Middle school felt like an endless series of humiliating experiences. Even now, in my second year of high school, I find myself reflecting on all the awkward, cringe-worthy moments from those three years when I had no friends. It’s hard to recall any truly happy times; even the good moments seemed to get overshadowed.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

  1. You’re definitely not alone in feeling that way! Middle school can be such an awkward and challenging time for so many people. It’s a period of significant change, both physically and emotionally, and it can feel overwhelming, especially if you weren’t able to make friends. A lot of us have those cringe-worthy memories that seem to stick with us. It’s important to remember, though, that those experiences help shape who we are and often lead to personal growth. High school can be a fresh start, and it’s great that you’re already two years into it! Focus on the positive moments you’ve had since then, and know that it’s perfectly okay to carry some of those middle school memories while moving forward.
