Missing semester from transcripts

Transcripts Missing a Semester

I hope this is the right place to ask for help. If not, I would appreciate being directed to the appropriate sub. I recently requested a copy of my transcripts and noticed that a class I definitely took is missing. After looking further, I discovered screenshots of my assignments that confirm I attended the class—so I know I’m not imagining things. To my surprise, I found that an entire semester’s worth of classes is missing from my transcripts. I plan to call the college on Monday to get more information. This missing semester dates back to the COVID period, and I’ve heard similar stories about issues at the college during that time. I’m worried that they may not take my concerns seriously. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  1. It sounds like you’re in a pretty frustrating situation, and I can understand your concern about how the college will respond. It’s good that you have proof of the classes you took, like the screenshots of assignments, as that will help support your case when you contact them.

When you call, make sure to explain the situation clearly and mention the discrepancies you found. It might also be helpful to ask if there is a specific department or person who can assist you with transcript issues.

Many colleges have protocols for resolving transcript errors, especially given the disruptions during COVID-19. In some cases, they may require you to fill out a form or provide additional documentation, so be prepared for that.

You’re not alone in experiencing issues from that time, and other students have faced similar inconsistencies. Don’t hesitate to advocate for yourself—keep a record of your communications with them, and if necessary, escalate the issue if you don’t get a satisfactory response. Best of luck, and I hope you get it sorted out!
