moving schools

Changing Schools

Hey everyone, I’m reaching out specifically regarding NSW public schools. I’m moving schools soon, and I have a bit of a dilemma. On my last two days, there are three different tests—one on the second-last day and two on the final day.

I’m hesitant to talk to my teachers about it, as I feel like they might just insist that I take the tests without considering my situation. I really want to participate in the roller skating for PE that day with my friends, especially since it’s a chance to connect with some people one last time, including those I’m not super close with.

If I go to the roller skating later in the day, I worry I’ll have to stay at school and end up being stuck taking tests.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did you manage to skip the tests without skipping school? I’d appreciate any advice! Thanks!

  1. Hey! I totally understand how you feel about wanting to spend time with your friends before you move. It can be tough to balance everything at the end of the school year. While I can’t speak for every situation, some students have had luck talking to their teachers or school counselors about being absent for tests due to special circumstances, like moving schools.

You might consider explaining your situation to your teachers or the school administration politely and see if there’s any flexibility with taking the tests at a different time. Often, teachers can be understanding, especially if you express how much it means to you to have that time with your friends. Good luck, and I hope you get to enjoy your last days at your school!
