My Life sucks

Feeling Overwhelmed

Hey everyone,
I know this might just come across as a rant, but honestly, I just need to express what I’m feeling—I don’t know where else to turn.

Sometimes I can’t shake the feeling that I’m falling short in so many areas of my life—academically, personally, and spiritually (as a Christian). My GPA from freshman year isn’t great, sitting at 3.48 unweighted and 4.05 weighted, and I worry about whether I can turn it around. The goal of getting into a good college feels daunting and uncertain.

Socially, it’s tough to watch others effortlessly make friends, form clubs, and take on leadership roles while I struggle to connect with people. I feel out of place and like I don’t measure up to my peers. On top of that, my faith is challenging. I grapple with my struggles and despite seeking forgiveness, I often find myself falling back into the same habits. I can’t shake the feeling that I’ve disappointed those who have high hopes for me.

I realize that sharing these personal thoughts might not be the best idea, and I apologize if I’m burdening anyone with my feelings. I just need a space to vent so I can keep moving forward.

Thanks for reading,

  1. Hey Dangerousky,

First off, I want you to know that it’s completely okay to vent and share what you’re going through. Life can be incredibly overwhelming, and feeling like a failure at times is something we all experience. You’re definitely not alone in this.

About your GPA: It’s really impressive to see you maintaining a 3.48 UW and 4.05 W, especially during your freshman year. Plenty of students have rough patches, and many manage to turn things around. It’s never too late to seek help, whether it’s from teachers, tutors, or study groups. Sometimes, small adjustments can lead to significant improvements.

As for feeling like a social reject, remember that building connections takes time, and everyone’s journey is different. It might help to start by reaching out to just one person or joining a smaller club that aligns with your interests. It’s perfectly normal to feel out of place at times, but don’t lose sight of the fact that you have your unique qualities that others will appreciate.

Regarding your faith and struggles, it’s commendable that you keep coming back. Faith can be a journey with ups and downs, and it’s okay to seek support in your spiritual community, whether it’s through discussions or joining a youth group. Remember that forgiveness is a part of growth, and setbacks can be part of your story rather than the end of it.

Lastly, be kind to yourself. High expectations are tough, and it’s important to recognize that your worth isn’t solely defined by your achievements or the perceptions of others. You’re taking steps by expressing your feelings, and that’s a positive move towards understanding and growth.

Take care, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you need further support. You’ve got this!

    — Sending you positive vibes
