Purchasing e-access codes?

Looking to buy e-access codes?

I’m not entirely sure if this is the right subreddit, but I’m hoping to find out if I can purchase an e-access code for a textbook from Oxford University Press. When I check their website, it looks like the prices listed are for renting the textbook, which I’m not sure I understand correctly. Since I have a textbook rental, I can’t scratch off the code. I also checked on Chegg but didn’t have any luck there. I’m trying to keep costs down, so I’m wondering if this is even worth pursuing. Any advice would be appreciated!

One Reply to “Purchasing e-access codes?”

  1. It sounds like you’re in a bit of a tough spot with getting the e-access code for your textbook. Often, publishers like Oxford University Press do offer e-access codes separately, but it can sometimes be confusing to find those options on their website.

Here are a few suggestions you might want to try:

    1. Contact Customer Support: Reach out to Oxford University Press’s customer service. They can often clarify whether e-access codes are available for purchase outright and help you navigate their website.

    2. Check with Your Instructor: Sometimes, professors have access to e-copies or can provide a code to students, especially if the textbook is required for the course.

    3. Look for Alternatives: If renting the physical textbook is not an option, consider checking other online bookstores or platforms that might offer just the e-access code instead of the entire rental package. Websites like VitalSource sometimes sell digital access directly.

    4. Library Resources: See if your library has a digital copy or interlibrary loan programs that could help you access the material without purchasing it.

    5. Ask Classmates: You might also ask your classmates if they have the e-access code and if you’re allowed to use it for your studies.

If you’re on a budget, it’s definitely worth exploring all these options before deciding to purchase. Good luck!
