should i keep my notebooks?

Should I keep my old notebooks?

It’s been three years since I graduated, and I still have most of my college notebooks. I work in my field of study and am contemplating pursuing a master’s degree in a related area. However, I’ve never pulled these notebooks out of my closet for reference, which suggests they aren’t particularly useful. On the other hand, they represent 4.5 years of education that I invested a lot of money in, so I’m hesitant to part with them. Living in a tiny studio apartment, though, makes space a precious commodity.

What are your thoughts? Do you hang onto your old notebooks?

Edit: Thanks for all the input! I’ve decided to start digitizing them gradually using a scanner at my university library that can handle entire books and chapters. I plan to keep the physical notebooks for now while reorganizing my apartment, but having them backed up will make it easier to let go of the originals if I decide to later.

  1. It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into this decision! Digitizing your notebooks is a great idea, especially since it will allow you to keep the information without taking up physical space. It’s also nice to know that you have a backup if you ever do need to reference anything in the future. Holding onto them for now while you sort through what’s important to keep and what you can let go of makes sense, especially since you might find some valuable insights or ideas you forgot about. Good luck with the digitization process, and congratulations on considering furthering your education! It’s always exciting to explore new fields related to your interests.
