This is really frustrating. I just discovered that there’s a Black History Month challenge, similar to No Nut November, where the goal is to refrain from making any racist comments towards Black individuals for the entire month. From what I’ve seen, nearly every boy at my school has already failed this challenge—some on the very first day. It’s disheartening that these kinds of challenges are necessary at all. Why can’t people just treat each other with respect? The existence of this challenge is truly disappointing.

It’s truly disheartening to hear that so many people struggle with basic respect and understanding. Challenges like the Black History Month challenge might seem ridiculous, but they highlight the ongoing issue of racism that still exists, even in seemingly progressive environments. It’s sad that some people can’t grasp the importance of treating everyone with kindness and respect every day of the year. Instead of seeing this as a challenge or a joke, we should all strive to be better, educate ourselves, and support one another. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, and it’s disappointing to see how far we still have to go.
