Thoughts on this going on my college application?

Would love your opinions on including this in my college application!

I know I’ve asked something similar before, but I didn’t receive much feedback, so I’m trying again. What do you think about the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (MOS) being included in a college application? I currently hold certifications in all three Microsoft applications—Word, PowerPoint, and Excel—as well as an additional one for completing all three, bringing my total to four certifications. Are they valuable to mention?

  1. Including your Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certifications on your college application can definitely be a positive addition, especially if you’re applying for programs related to business, technology, or any field where digital proficiency is valued. Here are a few points to consider:

    1. Demonstrates Skills: Having these certifications shows that you are proficient in essential software that many colleges and workplaces use. This suggests that you have practical skills that can help you in your academic work.

    2. Commitment to Learning: Pursuing and achieving these certifications indicates that you are proactive and willing to invest time in your education and skills development. This can reflect positively on your work ethic and determination.

    3. Stand Out: Many applicants may not have formal certifications, so including them can help differentiate you from others. It shows that you have taken extra steps beyond the standard curriculum.

    4. Relevant to Your Major: If you’re planning to major in a field where these skills are particularly relevant (like business, communications, or information technology), it will enhance your application even more.

    5. Presenting It Well: Be sure to highlight the certifications in a way that connects them to your goals. In your application or personal statement, you can mention how these skills will contribute to your success in college and beyond.

Overall, your Microsoft Office certifications are definitely worth including on your college application, as they can bolster your profile and highlight your skills. Good luck!
