Dodged another bullet with an “on campus job” where in the interview, they want me to be available from 7:30am-11pm seven days a week and then wonder why people don’t want to work for them.

Just narrowly avoided a situation with an “on-campus job” that requires availability from 7:30 AM to 11 PM every day of the week. It’s no surprise that so few people want to work for them—this is just absurd.

Edit: To be fair, it would only be 25 hours, but still needing to be available during those hours is a lot.

  1. It’s great that you recognized the red flags during the interview! Expecting availability across such a wide range of hours is definitely excessive, especially for a part-time position. It’s important for employers to offer flexibility that respects work-life balance. It sounds like you made the right call by passing on that opportunity. There are plenty of jobs out there that will appreciate your time and commitment without demanding such extreme availability! Keep searching; the right fit is out there.
