Just narrowly avoided a situation with an “on-campus job” that requires availability from 7:30 AM to 11 PM every day of the week. It’s no surprise that so few people want to work for them—this is just absurd.
Edit: To be fair, it would only be 25 hours, but still needing to be available during those hours is a lot.

It’s important for employers to offer flexibility that respects work-life balance. It sounds like you made the right call by passing on that opportunity. There are plenty of jobs out there that will appreciate your time and commitment without demanding such extreme availability! Keep searching; the right fit is out there.
