Returning to University After a Break

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice on returning to university after being away for a while. In mid-January, I had a nervous breakdown and ended up coming home. Since then, I’ve visited campus a few times for a few hours, but I haven’t spent the night.

I’m feeling better mentally, but I’m struggling to motivate myself to fully return. I have friends and my boyfriend there, but I really enjoy the comfort and ease of being at home. At university, my room feels small, and the routine is quite dull and unstructured. At home, I have more space, family around, and plenty of activities to keep me engaged. Plus, I don’t have the daily responsibilities of cooking or cleaning—though I do help out when I can—which eases my financial burden as well.

I also feel guilty about leaving my boyfriend at university for months since we do so much together. I know he supports my decision to focus on my recovery, but I can’t help but worry that he’s feeling lonely.

What should I do? I should mention that it’s my final year, and I live about a 1.5-hour drive away. Any tips or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
