Already falling behind in school, need help

Struggling in School and Looking for Advice

School started two weeks ago, and I’m already feeling overwhelmed. Initially, I didn’t have workbooks for my different subjects, so I was keeping all my notes in one book, which made it really difficult to stay organized. Now that I finally have the correct books, I’ve copied down notes for almost all my lessons except for a few in math, science, and HASS. Unfortunately, I haven’t completed any of the three math worksheets, and we have a test coming up in just three days. I’m also struggling to understand science completely. I could really use some advice on how to catch up and improve. Any tips would be greatly appreciated; thank you so much!

  1. It sounds like you’re facing a tough situation, but it’s great that you reached out for help! Here are some steps you can take to get back on track:

    1. Prioritize Your Subjects: Since you have a test coming up in math, focus on that first. Review the notes you have and see if you can identify specific topics that are most likely to be on the test. YouTube or Khan Academy can be helpful for explanations.

    2. Talk to Your Teacher: Don’t hesitate to reach out to your math and science teachers. Explain your situation and ask for guidance on what’s most important to study for the test. They might also help clarify any concepts you’re struggling with.

    3. Work on Worksheets: Set aside time today and tomorrow to complete at least some of the math worksheets. If you’re stuck on a problem, look for online resources or ask a classmate for help.

    4. Study in Blocks: Try studying in focused blocks of time (e.g., 25 minutes of study followed by a 5-minute break). This can help you stay productive without feeling overwhelmed.

    5. Use Study Groups: If you have friends in your classes, see if you can form a study group. Sometimes discussing the material with others can make it easier to understand.

    6. Seek Extra Help: If your school offers tutoring or after-school help sessions, consider attending those. They can provide extra support where you need it most.

    7. Stay Organized: Now that you have your books, keep everything organized. Write a checklist of what you need to accomplish each day to catch up.

    8. Manage Stress: Remember to take breaks and practice self-care. It’s important to keep a positive mindset as you work through this.

You can do this! Focus on taking small steps each day, and you’ll gradually catch up. Good luck with your test!
