Considering a Gap Year

I’m planning to take a gap year after my IB exams before applying to U.S. colleges. Right now, my IB score is around 30, and I just took the March SAT with limited preparation, scoring 1120 (I know it’s not great). Is anyone else considering a gap year after the 2025 session? If so, what are your plans, and how do you intend to enhance your chances of getting into a good college? I would appreciate any suggestions from those who are either taking a gap year or have already done so and are now in college. Thank you!
