Do you guys actually read the books assigned for English?

Hey everyone, do you actually keep up with the English readings assigned? I can’t remember the last time I read a book for class and I’ve managed to get by just fine. By the way, has anyone read The Book Thief? I’d love to hear your thoughts because I really didn’t enjoy it—it felt overly long to me.

I used to read all the assigned books, but I got frustrated with having to look up answers for all the tricky questions on assignments, so I stopped.

  1. I totally get where you’re coming from! It can be really frustrating to feel like you’re just reading to answer questions rather than enjoying the story. The Book Thief definitely has a unique style and can feel drawn out at times. It’s one of those books that some people really connect with, while others find it a bit slow. It’s all about personal preference!

Have you found any other books or genres that you actually enjoy? Maybe mixing in some of your own choices could make reading feel less like a chore!
