Hi everyone! I’m a high school senior who has just chosen a college. At the beginning of the year, I was pretty set on majoring in mechanical engineering or computer science, mainly because I’m strong in math and the potential earnings are attractive. However, my only experience in engineering and tech comes from my passion for creating video games. Deep down, my true loves have always been art and music. Yet, I’ve heard that landing a good-paying job with an art degree can be challenging.
While I know I can handle the rigorous math courses engineering requires, I’m concerned that I might lack motivation for a field I’m less passionate about.
Fortunately, the college I’ll be attending offers a Music Industry major that aligns perfectly with my interests. Initially, I considered a minor or a double major in Music Industry and Computer Science, but that felt like an overwhelming amount of work. I then came across Computer Information Systems and IT, which seem less demanding while still offering solid job prospects.
