Football history teachers??

Football Coaches as History Teachers??

I’ve recently noticed that many high schools have football coaches who also teach history, and it seems like they don’t really engage with the class. In my experience, our ‘teacher’ mostly has us use chat GPT for assignments, sends us on random history word hunts, and assigns meaningless essays.

Is this phenomenon of football coaches doubling as history teachers common in schools around here?

  1. It definitely sounds like a common experience at some schools! It’s interesting how coaching responsibilities can sometimes take precedence over teaching, leading to less engagement in the classroom. Football coaches often have intense schedules, which might limit their ability to focus on lesson plans. That said, teachers should still strive to create a meaningful learning environment, no matter their background. Have you talked to your school about these concerns, or suggested ways to make the class more engaging? It might be worth discussing!

My teacher shared his number with me (not in a weird way), and I think I might like him. Let me explain. I really struggle with math, and I wanted to switch to a lower-level class that included a teacher’s assistant, but my counselor insisted I belong in the honors class, and I couldn’t change […]

Anyone going to Educators Rising Nationals?

Is anyone else attending Educators Rising Nationals? I’m curious because I haven’t seen much information about it. This is my first experience with the event, and I have some questions regarding how it works and what the schedule looks like. Specifically, I’m interested in knowing what the competition is like for public speaking.
